Making silver jewellery and other items in silver is the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

After retiring from a long and varied career in engineering, I wanted to find something to do that would use the skills I had learnt as an apprentice marine engineer. I have always found working with my hands gives me great pleasure and satisfaction therefore I looked for something that would allow me to use these skills. I found silversmithing when after a couple of hours at college exploring silver with an inspired tutor I was hooked!

I have a workshop at home in rural Perthshire where I design and make jewellery and other small items. I am inspired by nature and geometry and although my base material is silver I frequently use black and gold features as a means of enhancing basic designs.
